6 Day Photography Workshop in The Palouse
"The Palouse" is located in southeastern Washington and north central Idaho. It is a large (about 50x50 miles) picturesque area of extremely fertile random silt dunes deposited during the ice ages and is very well-known for its photographic opportunities (see wikipedia's writeup ). Last summer I spent a few hours on a drive back from the Coeur d'Alene area scouting the area for a future photographic outing, but I was quickly overwhelmed by the region's size and network of small rural roads. It was clear to me that I would need some help learning the area and finding good photographic opportunities. After some research I sign on with Gale Perry at Light Fantastic www.light-fantastic.com for her annual 6-day workshop. It was a very productive trip and, now that I know the "lay of the land", I can't wait to return for more explorations!
I did come back with a few "keepers" (smile) ... you can see them in the galleries below. Since there are around 50 images in each of the above day groups, I also pulled out a group of about 50 of my very favorite images. Some of the pictures are panoramas – they have a "Click/Tap Image ..." in their caption. If you click the image, you will get a new viewpoint window and you can "travel" around in the panoramic scene by clicking and dragging with your mouse or using the buttons at the bottom of the window. These image files are quite large, so you should be on a high-speed internet connection; and it will take a few seconds for the image to "pop" into clarity.
